Alan R. Pearlman was appointed Congregation Anshei Israel's executive director effective May 1, 2006.

Most recently executive director at Temple B'nai Jeshurun in Des Moines, Iowa for seven years, Mr. Pearlman's focus for our synagogoue includes strategic planning, endowment, board support, and office and staff management. Pearlman also plans to engage Anshei Israel's congregants - current and potential members - through innovative marketing programs.

A talented administrator, Mr. Pearlman has 20 years experience in managing non-profit agencies, including nursing and rehabilitation centers and long-term care services to the elderly and those with disabilities.

Graduated with a B.A. in Communication Arts and a M.A. in Behavioral Disabilities from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Pearlman also holds a Specialist Certificate in Nursing Home Administration. A senior member of the National Association of Temple Administrators (NATA), Alan is married to Dr. Ann Abramson, a professor of Exceptional Education at Drake University in Des Moines. The couple has two children.

New to Tucson and all it offers, and with a long history of Jewish communal service, Mr. Pearlman is very interested in becoming involved in and learning more about Tucson's Jewish community and its various agencies.
